Exodus to Shanghai Moscow International Film Festival

The final and rather resonant chord sounded Romanian-English “Exodus in Shanghai” (section “Russian trace”), wild Kungfu-Action Anthony Hickox, known for his genre hits of the late 80’s / early 90’s (two of the “Wax Museum” “Hellraiser 3”). In the center of the plot – the flight of the Jews from Vienna 38th year in Shanghai by the Chinese Embassy. A fighter like Bruce Lee, a charming blonde, stupid SS as if from a movie of the “TEL”, bloody fight scenes and firefights, the swastika of cocaine tracks, not that I seriously played by actor and constant shouts of “Heil Hitler!” In half with jokes about the Führer reminiscent at once of “Mamma Mia”, “Inglourious Basterds” and “Schindler’s List.” By the way, Hickox, which appears in the final as an agent of Fleming in the closing credits thanks Steven Spielberg. Yes, it can, treshovo and absurd, but it is perfect as a necessary antidote to the overly serious festival pictures. The festival has brought other pleasant discoveries – in particular, the Argentine-French film “Eva does not sleep” with Gael Garcia Bernal and Denis Laban, but more on that next time.

Exodus to Shanghai, after having been chosen for Shanghai International Film Festival 11-19 June 2016, has been officially selected for the Moscow International Film Festival 23-30 June 2016. Exodus to Shanghai has been picking up momentum with International Film Festivals around the world choosing the feature film in their official line-up. Regardless that there are no major Hollywood Stars headlining the main roles, the engaging film touches the people around the world with its message and beautiful imagery.

An Action/Adventure film of Dr. Ho the Chinese Consul in Vienna in 1938, born and raised in Hunan, Home of Mao Zedong and other top Chinese Leaders, who issued Exit Visas to many Jews against the instruction of his superiors. Wien (OTS) – Exodus to Shanghai produced by an Austrian Company FashionTV has been chosen as part of the Official Selection at The People’s Film Festival to be shown June 3 2016 at 2:30PM at the Maysles Cinema in Harlem New York. The Chinese Schindler: Fangshen saved the lives of thousands of Jews during the Shoah

Meet the Chinese saviour: Fangshen, served as Chinese Consul in Austria, at the time of
the Second World War. As Consul he issued Visas to thousands of Jews, who, with his help, managed to immigrate to China, just a moment before the doors of Europe would close on them. Today an entire Hall in a museum in China is dedicated to his activities and reveals a story that has not been told until today.

Österreich/Deutschland/Schweiz (OTS) – Der Film „Exodus to Shanghai“ beginnt mit dem Tag des Anschlusses 1938 und zeigt den Exodus von Juden aus Wien nach Shanghai. Im Mittelpunkt steht Dr. Ho, der Chinesische Konsul in Wien, der tausende Juden zur Flucht verholfen hat. Es erzählt die Geschichte von Juden, die ums Überleben kämpften und denen Dank Dr. Ho die Flucht gelang.

Michel Adam, der österreichische Eigentümer des weltweiten TV Senders FashionTV, freut sich seinen ersten Spielfilm mit Unterstützung des Jüdischen Museums Wien zu präsentieren. Der Film wurde im Spirit von „Inglorious Bastards“ gedreht und ist berührend und unterhaltsam zugleich.

Produced by Michel Adam a fashion TV founder and directed by Anthony Hickox (Waxwork, Hellraiser3…) this upbeat feature film provides a superb symbiosis of action thriller, comedy, romance, adventure, music and high production value. Using most attractive fashion models and seasoned actors the Exodus story is largely based on the true story of Dr. Feng Shan Ho the Chinese Consul of Vienna issuing 10, 000 exit visas in 1938 to Austrian Jews to leave the Third Reich for Shanghai, an initiative opposed by his Berlin superior who needed arms from Germany. The narrative involves Dr. Ho, Fannia a beautiful musician falling in love with Bruce the martial arts expert nephew of the Consul, the art gallery owners Morgenstern, sadistic Gestapo and SS members who were ordered by Hitler to find his drawing of Prince, his favorite shepard dog, and an assortment of other original characters. Following the maxim that only a good Nazi is a dead Nazi Dr. Ho’s group and people he had hidden successfully escape on a train from Vienna after killing a large number of Nazis. The film is most enjoyable and appealing in part because of its message that the good side prevails over evil.
